Review: Wet N Wild Mascara

Hi guys! Today I will be reviewing two of the Wet N Wild mascaras.

The mascaras I'll be talking about are the Wet N Wild Max Volume Plus and the Wet N Wild Megawear.

The Max Volume Plus mascara retails for $4.99 at Walgreens and the Megawear mascara retails for $.97 at Walmart.

The Max Volume Plus mascara has a rubberized wand, and the Megawear mascara has a traditional bristle wand.

The wand on Max Volume Plus has large spikes on one end and and that get smaller as they reach the very top. The Megawear wand has bristles that are all the same size, but the wand itself is a bit smaller than your traditional mascara brush.

Heres a photo after I did a second coat of both mascaras.

The Max Volume Plus mascara is an extremely wet formula, almost too wet for the the size and kind of bristles in my opinion. It gets very clumpy quickly and it transfers easily to the eyelid. The Megawear is a dry formula, although I still found it clumped my eyelashes and it did transfer onto my eyelid quite easily. 

The lasting power of these is okay. I mean, if you don't touch anywhere near your eye, you'll be fine. But I found if I accidentally touched near my eye and got too close to my eyelashes, my mascara would smudge on to my eyelids or fingers within seconds and I was left with a mess. For me, both of these mascaras are disappointing, but just because they didn't work for me, doesn't mean they wont work for someone else. I  ended up giving both of these mascaras to my mother, and she seems to be having much better luck with them than I did and she really likes them! 

Review: Maybelline New York Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara

Hello once again everyone! Today I'm reviewing the Maybelline New York Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara.

The Brow Drama retails for about $7 at the drugstore. I got mine at at Target.

Basically this is a colored mascara that is used to darken and fill in the eyebrows, while sculpting and making sure the brows don't move throughout the day.

The wand on the Brow Drama is quite odd, to say the least. It in't quite practical for sculpting and defining the brows. The tip of the wand is too round, and the metal bristles at the tip are too long to get the product exactly where you want it to be. The product inside the tube is amazing, it works really well for filling in the brows a little bit and making them stick all day long. I usually end up using a small angled brush to wipe the product off of the wand and then apply it to my brows.

Here is a photo of my eyebrows before and after using the Brow Drama. (Keep in mind, I wanted them to be grown out and a bit crazy for this review for better demonstration.)

I think this product is worth the money if you looking for something to lightly fill in and darken the brows a little bit, as well as keeping them in place throughout the day. I just wish the wand was shaped differently, and having to go in with a seperate brush is a hassle for me. Would I repurchase? Yes, and no. Yes for the product inside the tube( like i said, its smazing) and no  because the wand just isn't practical for what the product claims to do. 

Review: Wet N Wild Coloricon Bronzer

Hi everyone! Todays review is going to be on the Wet N Wild Coloricon Bronzer. These retail for about four dollars at the local drug store. I got mine at Walmart. 

There are three bronzers in this collection.

 The first one is called Reserve Your Cabana, it's a very light vanilla shade with a satin finish. This is way too light to be a bronzer for me, but it makes a great highlight. I like to use this one to set my under eye concealer for a brightening effect, and I've already almost hit pan on it! 

The second color is called Ticket to Brazil, it's the perfect medium golden tan color, also with a nice satin finish. This one is my favorite in the collection because I have fair skin and is the best bronzing shade for me. 

The third one is called Bikini Contest, is the darkest of the three and is a deep burnt orange tan color, once again, with a satin finish. This one is just a little to dark for my complexion, but will look great on deeper skin tones! I like to use this one as an eye shadow in my crease, because it can really warm up any eye look. 

All three bronzers in this collection have little bits of glitter, but the glitter doesn't seem to transfer to the skin so I don't really mind it. Another really cool thing about the Color Icon Broner is that all of them actually have SPF 15, and I can't stress enough about how important  it is to protect your skin from the sun! 

I think these are fantastic, especially for the price. I can get different uses out of all the shades and I'm already about to hit pan on Reserve your Cabana!  I will be re-purchasing and I would recommend these to anyone on a budget, or, to anyone who simply wants to play around with some awesome bronzer!

Review: BH Cosmetics Wild & Radiant Baked Illuminating & Bronzing Palette

Hello again everyone! Today I am reviewing the BH Cosmetics Wild & Radiant palette. (Yes, I know. Another highlight review, such a shock!) 

The Wild & Radiant palette retails for $20 on http://www.bhcosmetics.com/. However, I got mine for only $8. BH Cosmetics is ALWAYS having sales, so you should be able to find it at a discounted price. 

I had to number these cheek products in the photo below because they do not have any names on the palette. I will be reviewing these by the numbers shown, to make it a little bit easier to follow.

Now, I will admit right off the bat that I don't think the "bronzing" shades in this palette are even close to being practical to use as bronzer. However, I really love using them as blush! I think they are much too red and orange toned to be able to get away with bronzing the face, but they do make absolutely gorgeous cheek colors. 

The first color in this palette is a very shimmery, almost brick red color. It looks fabulous on the apples of the cheeks. The second color is a super pretty champagne color. The third one is also sort of a champagne color, but with a hint of pink and slightly darker than the second color. The fourth one is much more orange in tone than the first color, if any of them could be bronzer, it would be this one. Although it is much too orange and way to shimmery to be a bronzer in my opinion.

All in all, I think this is a great palette. I don't mind not being able to use the bronzing shades as bronzer because they make amazing blushes, and the highlights are outstanding. They last all day long and give the skin an absolutely gorgeous sun-kissed glow. I definitely think this palette is worth what I paid for it, and it has become a staple in my every day makeup routine.

Review: Hard Candy Natural Eyes Palette

Hi everyone! Welcome to my very first blog post! Today I decided to Review the Hard Candy Natural Eyes palette.

This palette retails for $8 at my local Walmart.

Now, when I first saw this palette, I was ecstatic! I was so excited to see it in Hard Candies new line for spring. The first thing I thought was how similar the lay out of the shadows looked compared to my favorite Too Faced pallets. The tin packaging is what completely sold me. So of course, I let my inner beauty addict out and I bought it on the spot. There were three different Hard Candy pallets for me to choose from, the Natural eyes, Sassy Eyes, and Smokey eyes. I LOVE my neutral eye shadows, so of course I purchased the Natural Eyes one.

The packaging is very cute. Its a gold tin with a magnetic closure, similar to the Too Faced pallets. Inside you get nine eye shadows, a Hard Candy Eyes The Limit eye primer, a mini black eyeliner, and a double ended sponge tip applicator. This pallet also comes with a little booklet with three eye looks in it, sort of a step by step guide in case you aren't sure how to create any looks with this pallet. However, just because it shows you how to use the shadows doesn't mean that's how you HAVE to use them! Playing around with them is half the fun! I haven't used the eyeliner, but I've always been a fan of the Hard Candy eye primer, so that was a huge bonus for me.

Now, on to the important stuff!

The top row has all matte shadows. The first one is Tease, a very light creamy color, then Toying, a medium warm brown, and finally Minx, a dark chocolate brown. The quality of these are okay, but to be honest I had a little bit of a hard time getting these to stay on my eyes. They sort of seemed to disappear during the blending process, but after awhile I was able to get them to work for me.. Sort of. 

The second row is all shimmers. First is Bashful, a champagne color which is beautiful for all over the lid, second is Girlie, a shimmery light pinkish color, and then Philander, a dark chocolate brown with some chunky silver sparkles. The quality of these shadows were much better than the matte ones. I always feel like the drugstore pallets lack in quality a little bit when it comes to matte shadows, but these shimmers were perfection and I really enjoyed the application.

The third and final row has one matte shadow and two shimmers, the first is called Chatty, perfect for blending in the crease or for an all over lid color, next is an amazing metallic looking gold called Coy, and then we have a warmer brown with bigger gold sparkles in it called Frisky. Again, the matte shadow took some work, and I'm not a huge fan of chunky glitter in my eye shadows. 

At the end of the day, I have a love/hate relationship with this pallet. I absolutely love the shimmery colors, and I think their quality is fantastic. On the other hand, the matte shadows gave me a lot of trouble. I think if you have the time to work with this pallet to get the color pay off that you want, then by all means, go for it! If I could go back, I would still repurchase it specifically for the shimmery shadows and the eye primer. (:
